Geopolitical Fiction of the Future

Just a funny fantasy I randomly came up with.

In the future the West will fall back into Barbarianism and (cyber)wars will reign supreme between radicalized alt-right conservatives, extremist religions, eco-warriors, technology fanatics and technocrats (or a mix of these rather than being seperate factions). While some highly protected city-states will continue being leaders of innovation, most will fall into the 2nd Dark Ages. The US will become a developing nation, losing it’s economic and military power, but still have some areas of stability as it will be seen as a major tourist attraction for internationals: cheap rates, decent service, many siteseeing opportunities and historic sites of a former world empire.

China will become a democratic communist state founded on Daoism. After the reign of one communist leader after another, the country decides to change course as they realize from their Daoist teachings that nothing, not even the Communist Party, is impermanent. As everything is subject to change so is the government and its leadership. Special leadership academies are created which anyone can join freely. On a regular basis the whole country gets to vote who their new Daoist philosopher King shall be. The rest of Asia will become the most specialist merchants, trading with China and the rest of the world.

Africa will continue to rise in wealth and wars. Many countries on the African continent will flourish economically whilst others dichotomously will be plagued by regular cycles of tribalistic wars. The economic African superpowers will attract the brightest minds to their universities and companies. Many highly skilled and not so skilled migrant workers from povert-stricken Europe will move to Africa.

South America will stay the same. It will continue to have fantastically lush rain forrests and natural areas worth visiting. Most countries will continue being developing nations, having an abundance between hopeful young startups and workers, a rich elite and political corruption along side.

Antarctica will become a resort for the rich. The favourable climate and distance from it all will make it the new Davos of the world.

Just some random thoughts I had under the shower.
